How to make space on macbook pro5/10/2023 ![]() ![]() Thank you everyone who helped me solve this issue! Except for that one useless troll with a throwaway. I shutdown and restart and was able to delete files again. It's a whopping 27gb, but again I'm not able to delete them.Įdit 3: Problem has been solved. I would really appreciate the help!Įdit 2: I know imovie is the root of the problem, and I found the files taking up all the space in Home->movies->imovie library->movie->high quality media. I have literally reached a dead end here. The macbook also won't read an external hard drive. I don't want to restart or shutdown, because I don't know if It'll even boot up normally. I've tried to delete stuff but I can't because the disk space is full. But it won't even let me create a new one. ![]() It gives me an error saying "imovie library already in use by user(me)" and then asks if I want to create a new one. I opened imovie back up and it asks me to click my imovie library. Click on the More Space option as shown in the screenshot below. Whenever this would happen I would go back to the video and delete the project along with the imported video and my storage would go back to normal. Now, before it wouldn't close itself but this time it did. Imovie asked if I wanted to cancel the tasks and I clicked yes, it then closed by itself. However this time I wasn't paying attention for so long that it went down to 256 megabytes left! This has happened to me before but it was always when I had at least 3 or 4 gigs left. I come back and see that the disk space is now full because of the editing that was going on. Type /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/. To clean them, Open Finder Go to Go > Go to Folder in the menu bar. I was editing a video on imovie, I let the laptop there as I had to take care of something. If you ever used your Mac to back up your iPhone, there might be some old files left. As the title says, I've run out of disk space and now I'm stuck and can't do anything. Hello, I use a 2012 macbook pro and it runs the latest OS that was last able to be used on this one.
